Objective: In this study we aimed to evaluate 19 male patients diagnosed with erectile dysfunction (ED) of organic cause which has shown no response to first and second step treatment and underwent penile prothesis surgery retrospectively according to side effects and satisfaction.

Materials and Methods: Data of 19 patients who underwent penile prothesis surgery between April 2006 and September 2017 were evaluated retrospectively. Type of the prothesis, success and complication rates were recorded. Patient satisfaction was evaluated with erectile dysfunction inventory of treatment satisfaction (EDITS) questionnaire.

Results: Mean age of the patients was 51.90±18.02, all of the patients were applied inflatable penile prothesis. One patient had mechanical malfunction and penile dislocation was observed in another one patient. Protheses were removed by these two cases. Penile edema and infection was not observed in any of the cases. Mean follow-up period was 82.23±51.48 months and 80,94 % of the spouses of these patients declared satisfaction.

Conclusion: By male patients with erectile dysfunction of organic cause which show no response to first and second step therapy modalities, penile prothesis implantation will be considered as gold standart therapy option when making a correct patient choice and strictly obeying the surgical antiseptic rules due to its low side effect, high success and patient’s satisfaction rate.
