In this study, white mice, allocated to two experimental groups and one control group. Cadmium (Cd) were given daily with drinking water during 6 weeks at the doses of 2.5 mg/kg and 5 mg/kg for each experimental group. Four mice from each of experimental group and two mice from control group were necropsied at the beginning of second week and tissue samples were taken for macroscopic and microscopic examinations. In macroscopy, there were enlargement, congestion and necrotic foci in the liver in experimental groups. In addition, congestion and hemorrhage were observed in kidney. In the microscopic examination, sinusoidal dilatation, degeneration and necrose were seen in the liver. There were degeneration of convoluted tube epithelium in the kidneys and neuronal degeneration in the brain. These changes were observed to occur earlier and to be more severe in the group which was given Cd at dose of 5mg/kg.
