Granular Cell Tumor of the Esophagus: A Case Report

Granular cell tumor of the esophagus is rare. The tumor is usually benign and asymptomatic; only 2-4 % of the cases have malignant progress. The tumor has been mostly seen in skin and tongue but very rarely in esophagus. Although it can be observed at any age, it is more often in 4th and 5th decades of life.Women have higher risk than men. Multiple lesions are observed in 10 % of the cases.

The patient who submitted to Fırat University Fırat Medical Center, presented a history of dyspepsia. An endoscopic examination was applied and an aphteus lesion which was found, the biopsy was taken from histopathologic examinations diagnosed that a tumor compatible with GCT since it was rarely seen, we discussed based on the current literature.
