This study was carried out to investigate the some properties suchas milk production, body measurements, body weight, birth weight and survivality in Eastern Anatolian Red cows reared at Elazığ Situations.

This study was carried out at the Research Farm of Firat University and a total of 81 Eastern Anatolian Red cows were used as material.

According to the results, milk production traits; milk yield, lactation length, fat rate and fat yield were determined 641.58 kg, 160 days, 4.90 % and 17.20 kg, respectively.

In this study, it was found that body length was 131.55 cm, heigth at withers was 111.73 cm, chest circumference was 153.30 cm, front shank width was 15.36 cm, body weight was 229.86 kg and calf birth weight was 14.08 kg. In addition, survivality rate was detected 85 %.

According to correlation analysis results, it was observed that the correlation coefficients were statistically significant (p< 0.01) and positive between milk yield and fat yield, negative between milk yield and fat rate. The correlations among body weight, body length, height at withers, chest circumference were positive and statistically significant (p< 0.01).

As a result milk yield and birth weight are found in low level. The reproductive performance, body weight and body measurements are observed in avarage level in Eastern Anatolian Red breed at Elazığ situations. Thus we could say that the productivity level of this breed may increase with genetic improvement and better management.
