Keywords: Height estimation, anthropometry, regression equations |
Objective: In this study, it was aimed to estimate height with two different regression formulas using femur length and compare it with actual height.
Materials and Methods: The participants in this study consisted of 43 women (mean age: 34.60 years) and 47 men (mean age: 34.95 years). Height, weight, and femur length of the participants were measured and estimated height was calculated using regression equations. Results: Height, femur length and weight of men were found to be higher than women. The regression equation, which more closely estimates the height measured in men and women was found to be different. Estimated height was negatively correlated with age in women and it was positively correlated with weight in men. Conclusions: It was concluded that different formulas should be used in estimating the height in men and women. |
