Objective: Scoliosis is a complex curvature of the spine resulting from rotation around its own axis, causing deformity not only in the coronal plane but in all three planes. In conservative treatment, Physiotherapy Scoliosis-Specific Exercises (FSSE) and especially the Schroth Method are important components whose effectiveness is accepted. The main aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of Schroth treatment applied to patients followed with a diagnosis of Idiopathic Scoliosis (IS) through pre- and post-treatment radiological results.

Materials and Methods: This retrospective, single-center study included patients with a degree of curvature without surgical indication who fully complied with a 15-session Schroth program between January 2024 and November 2025. Patients received a personalized treatment program based on three-dimensional correction principles under the guidance of the same experienced physiotherapist. Treatment effectiveness was evaluated by the change in Cobb angle calculated from standing radiographs taken at baseline and at the end of the first year. Statistical significance between pre- and post-treatment measurements was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test.

Results: A total of 35 patients (23 women, 12 men) with a mean age of 14.86±5.197 years were included in the study. The mean Cobb angle before treatment was 14.649±7.064°, while after treatment it was found to be 12.157±7.815° (p=0.003).

Conclusion: The isolated application of the Schroth method was found to be effective in reducing the Cobb angle in patients with ischemic scoliosis in the medium term (1 year). This finding supports the clinical importance of Schroth exercises in conservative scoliosis management.
