Carpal tunnel syndrome due to median nerve schwannoma at patient with neurofibromatosis type 2

Schwannomas are rare in the upper extremity. They involves often peroneal and ulnar nerve. Rarely, they affect median nerve and cause carpal tunnel syndrome. Diagnose of carpal tunnel syndrome is easy if symptoms are present. But if clinical and neurophysiological findings are different, median nerve tumor must be considered as such in our case. Peripheric nerve tumors are recognized through they grow out. But if they are in palm of the hand, because of handful's derm is thick, they seem smaller than their real size distinctly other areas. Therefore when surgical therapy is programmed, this feature is considered.
