This study was conducted to determine relationship among the antibody of canine herpesvirus-1 (CHV-1), breed, gender and age in a total of 95 dogs (55 Anatolian Shepherd Dogs and 40 German Shepherd dogs). CHV-1 antibody was detected by using virus neutralization test with added complement (VNT), and ELISA technique. CHV-1 antibody was detected in 24 dogs (25.2%) by VNT. Serum samples which were positive by VNT were also found positive by ELISA. There was no significant relationship between being antibody positive and gender (P>0.05), but Anatolian Shepherd dogs had higher serapositive ratio than German Shepherd dogs. The rate of the seropositivity increased by age and the highest was at age 5 (64.7%).
