The Investigation of Emotional Intelligence in Health School Students to Some Variables

Objective: This descriptive study was planned to determine the emotinal intelligence of Health School students.

Material and Methods: Data was collected by using questionnaire for social-demographic characteristics and Bar On EQ-NED. Study was done in 325 students. The data were evaluated by means, percenyages, t testing and variance analysis.

Results: 21.5 ± 1.8 is the average age of the research group, 32.0 % of the students' learning in the classroom to give it deems the second, 80.0 % 'scroll that female students, 60.9 %' of flour were read in nursing. Sex with a statistically significant difference was found between the level of emotional intelligence (p < 0.05). ‘Girl students' emotional intelligence scale scores were higher than male students. Emotional intelligence scores of students age 20 and under is 194.6±34.8, students over and 23 age is 203.0±34.7 (p> 0.05). Emotional intelligence scores of the freshmen is 192.7±33.8, second grade students is 208.4±39.8 (p>0.05). Itself "talkative-enterprising" identifies the scale and sub-components of emotional intelligence of students received the highest scores and found significant difference between groups (p< 0.05).

Conclusions: Education and consultation programmed supporting development of emotional intelligence of health school students could be suggested.
