This study was carried out in order to determine the intestinal parasite distribution in kitchen personnel of Fırat University, Fırat Medical Centre.

Ten of the 61 all male cohort (16.39 %) was found to have intestinal parasite. There was two species of parasite in only one person and others had only one species. 2 of the parasites were helminth and 8 were protozoon.

In conclusion, the incidence of intestinal parasites in kitchen personnel is similar to that is seen in general population. To look for non-pathogen or questionably pathogen protozoon in addition to pathogen protozoons and helminths more carefully during porter examination of kitchen personnel may supply information about fulfilment of the hygienic rules by these people.
